Hello.
How did you find the process of getting to know your clutter?
Becoming more aware of your clutter and how it impacts you is an important step to take, so please revisit if you need to. By becoming aware and being really honest about how it makes you feel, it can be easier to make a different choice as to how you want to live.
How did the clutter feel?
Did it feel imposing or restricting? Was there space for you to be all of you, or was the clutter so large that you had to tiptoe around the white elephant you've been pretending was a mouse? Or was it mildly frustrating and something you're ready to be free of? There is no correct answer here – it is for your own personal exploration.
Now...imagine how it would feel to live without that pressure and those constrictions - with no impositions upon you and where your office is a space where you can work freely.
Let’s go back to the clutter...

Imagine if your desk was clear and when you sat down you felt the space to do what needed to be done. Imagine when you open your office drawer it is organised in a way that supports you so that you can find what you need with ease. Imagine how productive you could feel when in a clear space....
Take the time to revisit where you found the clutter and begin to feel what is possible. Really focus on what it would feel like to have space free of clutter.
Again, I suggest writing half a page on the potential of your office and you in it.

Feeling inspired? If you feel to start making changes, by all means go ahead. Next week we will begin with the physical de-cluttering, but if you’re ready to start - don’t hold back. But my advice is to go gently. Excitement can kick in and you may want to race ahead. Often we get the urge to clean things out and we go at full force to get it done. Afterwards we are left exhausted. Try to be aware of how you approach the de-cluttering. We’re aiming for a change at a much deeper level than simply tidying something that is messy. |
For now, enjoy revisiting your life and tapping into the potential.
