Written by Nikki McKee Has life become a bit mundane? Is the day to day routine not inspiring you? Well…if you want more spice in your life - there has to be space for the spice. If you are so clogged up with clutter and old baggage, it’s pretty hard for anything new, let alone magical, to make an entry. |
Decluttering and getting rid of what you have been carrying around for years, or maybe even lifetimes, can seem like a daunting task. And in case it’s not obvious, the baggage can be material or it can be emotional. If you’re not sure if you have emotional clutter, your living space may be able to reflect that to you. Getting to the internal clutter is a little easier if you start with the temporal. As you clear the tangible clutter, you may find you throw out some of what you have been hoarding and holding onto internally.
If you clean out your wardrobe, it’s not just clothes you are throwing out. You can be free of the hotpants that no longer fit from when you went backpacking in the Caribbean, the kaftan from your ex-boyfriends Mum, the skirt you crocheted while mourning a breakup…as you throw that stuff out, the attachments to them also go as do all the emotions relating to those events in life. Cutting those attachments won’t cause you to loose the memories - that is something only memory loss can do. And guess what? When you cut the attachments you make space, not just within your wardrobe, but within yourself. Now you have the space for new clothes and more importantly, you have the internal space to allow new things to enter your life.
When you create space, the magic of life that is on offer can now reach you. The tap is always on and it’s an abundant flow. It’s your choice if you want it to flow in. Any flow always takes the easiest route. So make way, clear out your clutter and get ready for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
